Because of the complexity of the fretboard, learning to sight-read on the guitar requires a disciplined approach. In this article I'll discuss the approach that worked well for me and has worked well for many of my students.
A. sight-reading vs. reading study
Before you can sight-read, you must be able to read. So there is a difference between sight-reading and reading study. I'll give a brief overview of each, and then get into the details

His first instrument was the trombone, he play this instrument in the Rexville Bayamon Elementary School Band with his first teacher Angel David Mattos .
At 12 of age he become interested in the guitar, he begin to play and listen latin rock bands like Mana, Jarabe de Palo, Jaguares, Santana, Los Rodriguez and other rock bands like Aerosmith, Led zeppelin, Bon Jovi and Guns and Roses.
Actually he is studying in the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (Metro Campus) a bachelors degree in music with a minor in education.
His mayor influence are Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheney, Eric Johnson, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis
Virella studied with Isaac Lausell ,Ito Serrano, Osvaldo Lopez and Maria Elena Rodriguez
In January of 2008 Virella begin to teach guitar with Niño Musical ( Humacao P.R.)
At Today He is working in the Music Lab of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and working on a jazz quartet
