Melvin Llord Good morning my friends. I am feeling better and returning to work today. Blood pressure is under control. I guess it's time to make changes in my diet and schedule. More time to relax and play some music would be very helpful! Have a blessed day!

I guarantee you this was never the case. This stress that you are talking about can be caused by a few things:1 - Insecurity and/or Lack of experience trying to record something that they don't have the skill for.2 - A producer who does not communicate effectively with the musician & can't explain what he wants. 3 - A musician who suffers from claustrophobia inside a booth. (I believe this is overcome with experience or when you are confident in what you have to play). On either of the first 2 cases, this is far from being a professional. You simply cannot perform well if the environment or your mindset are not adequate. Also, you may have some fun with an iphone but don't expect any professional results from that. For a good production you need the right equipment and acoustics, there is no way around that, at least yet. less

Every musician has it's own preference and may prefer different sound. Today everything is digitalized which I guess can be defined as a much better method of "documentation".The key is to understand the basics of acoustics & frequencies. It's much more complex than being a great musician, it's a totally different speciality. How do you get the desired sound? If you don't understand these principles, you are at the mercy of "luck"..  Many years ago the acoustic on all studios had to be very dry, but today that has changed. With home recording studio's and so many software options you can get a pretty good sound in a decent room. Regardless, you still need to understand acoustics. Regarding the latency issues, you need to know how to properly setup your buffer size and optimizing your application. (High latency can be reduced by setting a lower buffer size, but when mixing you need to make sure your buffer size is set higher again). If you can afford a DSP Card and it's supported by your recording application, that would also reduce latency problems. Also, make sure you use an audio interface that supports ASIO or similar technology. The Worm With this exercise you are starting high on the neck of the guitar and working your way down. At first you will probably not get very far. Each different chord shifts only one finger down a fret from the previous chord. There are 4 different chords in the cycle and then the process will start over again.
